{"id":15420,"date":"2015-01-21T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-01-21T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/?p=15420"},"modified":"2021-11-17T19:36:19","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T19:36:19","slug":"chicken-with-satay-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testing22.mostlyfood.co.uk\/index.php\/chicken-with-satay-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken with Satay Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From BBC Food<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>450g\/1lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 2.5cm\/1in cubes<br \/>\n1\u00bd tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>For the marinade<\/h4>\n<p>tbsp light soy sauce<br \/>\n1 tbsp Shaoxing rice wine or dry sherry<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/Recipes\/chickenwithsataysauc_70986_16x9.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\nfreshly ground black pepper<br \/>\n2 tsp cornflour<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>For the sauce<\/h4>\n<p>3 tbsp sesame paste or smooth peanut butter<br \/>\n1 tbsp chilli bean sauce<br \/>\n(available from Asian grocers)<br \/>\n1 tbsp coarsely chopped garlic<br \/>\n2 tsp chilli oil<br \/>\n2 tbsp Chinese white rice vinegar or cider vinegar<br \/>\n2 tbsp light soy sauce<br \/>\nsalt<br \/>\nfreshly ground pepper<br \/>\n2 tsp sugar<br \/>\n2 tbsp hot water<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>To serve<\/h4>\n<p>50g\/2oz thinly sliced onions<br \/>\n100g\/4oz thinly sliced cucumbers<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<p>In a medium-sized bowl, combine the marinade ingredients, stirring to combine. Add the chicken, mix well and leave to marinate, covered, for at least 20 minutes at room temperature. Drain, discarding the marinade.<\/p>\n<p>For the sauce, put all the sauce ingredients in a blender or food processor and process until smooth.<\/p>\n<p>Heat a wok over high heat until it is very hot, then add the groundnut oil.
