{"id":16107,"date":"2023-01-13T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-13T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/?p=16107"},"modified":"2022-02-19T13:30:55","modified_gmt":"2022-02-19T13:30:55","slug":"spiced-chocolate-pecan-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testing22.mostlyfood.co.uk\/index.php\/spiced-chocolate-pecan-pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiced Chocolate Pecan Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Sainsbury&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>A chocolate pud as featured in Sainsbury\u2019s Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Serves: 8<br \/>\nPreparation time: 20 Minutes<br \/>\nCooking time: 60 Minutes<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mostlyfood.co.uk\/Recipes\/Spiced-chocolate-pecan-pie-188x165.jpg\" width=\"296\" height=\"260\" \/><\/h4>\n<p>1 x 375g pack dessert pastry<br \/>\nflour, for rolling out<br \/>\n150g dark chocolate (about 70% cocoa solids), broken into pieces<br \/>\n50g butter, cubed<br \/>\na pinch of ground cinnamon<br \/>\na pinch of ground cloves<\/p>\n<p>3 large eggs<br \/>\na pinch of ground ginger<br \/>\n100g light muscovado sugar<br \/>\n4 tablespoon maple syrup<br \/>\n200g regular or mammoth pecans, halved<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Method<\/h4>\n<p>Preheat the oven to 200\u00b0C, fan 180\u00b0C, gas 6. Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface to 3mm thick and use it to line a 23cm round tart tin with a removable base. Line the pastry case with nonstick baking paper and ceramic baking beans (or rice), then bake for 20 minutes. Remove the paper and beans, and return the pastry case to the oven for a further 5 minutes, then remove. Reduce the oven to 180\u00b0C, fan 160\u00b0C, gas 4.<\/p>\n<p>For the filling, melt the chocolate and butter with the spices in a bowl over barely simmering water, then leave to cool slightly.<\/p>\n<p>Lightly beat the eggs with the sugar and maple syrup, then stir in the spiced chocolate mixture and a pinch of salt. Chop half the pecans and stir into the mixture. Pour into the tart case and arrange the remaining pecans on top. Bake for 35 minutes or until set.
