She is patron of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity. Yes, this is a delightful recipe book, but it is also full of information about the culinary aspect of the Royal Navy. There is a history of catering in the Royal Navy, training and culinary arts, and a look at traditional dinners and events.<\/p>\n<h4>All have a connection to the Royal Navy<\/h4>\n<p>Mattie Tew has been responsible for bringing all the contributing chefs together in this volume. They all have a connection to the Royal Navy and that is a proud heritage. He has represented the Royal Navy at the Inter-services Exercise Joint Caterer, Salon Culinaire at Hotelympia (HRC) and ScotHot. He is a member of the Combined Services Culinary Arts Team and has competed for the UK and the British Military at the World Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart, Germany, a prestigious event.<\/p>\n<p>This book has humour, too. One can make a meal which would have been \u2018enjoyed\u2019 by sailors at the time of Lord Nelson. But history aside, this is a fine collection of recipes for dishes that could grace the table at any smart dinner party. Sea bream, roast venison, marinated scallops, and white chocolate panna cotta are a far cry from hard tack.<\/p>\n<p>Galley will appeal to home cooks but also professional chefs.
