All of these ventures took advantage of the proximity of the Canal. This waterway was used for commercial and passenger transport.<\/p>\n<p>The Danglas family now grow 70ha of vines on the hillsides of the village of Paraza. It\u2019s a winery but also a destination for picturesque stays in a beautiful corner of France. Yes, I am biased as we once lived not far from there.<\/p>\n<p>For their Oh Lala wine the Danglas family have created a melange of Syrah, Marselan (a grape variety obtained by crossbreeding Cabernet-Sauvignon and Grenache), Merlot and Cabernet Franc (parent grape of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carm\u00e9n\u00e8re). It\u2019s a well-structured wine and versatile.<\/p>\n<h4>Tasting notes:<\/h4>\n<p>Appearance: Deep red with purple tones<br \/>\nNose: luscious red fruits, blackberries and a hint of warming spice<\/p>\n<p>Palate: heaps of red and black berries; full and mellow<br \/>\nFinish: medium and deliciously fruity<\/p>\n<p>Wine and food pairings:<\/p>\n<p>A perfect wine for summer quaffing with alfresco meals of pasta, grilled meats and cheese dishes such as quiches and even fondue. A good bottle for pre-dinner drinks with savoury nibbles.
