\"PaleisPaleis Hotel is a superb 4-star boutique hotel in the historic ‘Hofkwartier’ neighbourhood of The Hague. It sounds regal and it is indeed rubbing shoulders with royalty. It\u2019s within a very short carriage ride of the Noordeinde Palace, the current work palace of King Willem-Alexander. I hear that this hotel regularly hosts dignitaries from up the road, too! This hotel is one of the best-regarded 4* hotels in The Hague, and there is lots of competition.<\/p>\n

The lovely building has the ambiance of a house rather than a hotel, and it has had a rich history since the 17th century. It\u2019s said that there are closed-off secret passageways that led to the nearby monastery! It faces a street that is fringed with boutiques, caf\u00e9s and bars, and there is an outstanding wine and spirits shop nearby. You will likely want a bottle of authentic Dutch gin as a souvenir of your visit to The Hague. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance, making Paleis Hotel an ideal hub for a stay in The Hague.<\/p>\n

\"PaleisThe rooms, and there are only 20 of them, are individually furnished in bold yet classic style, but with all modern technology on-hand. That includes the use of a mobile phone which will be a blessing to travellers from beyond Europe. This can also be used outside the hotel, which is a bonus when looking for a particular museum or for a nice bit of lunch. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms well-appointed.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a quiet and relaxing space<\/h4>\n

The public spaces at the Paleis Hotel are just as attractive as the guest rooms. There is a lounge on the ground floor which provides snacks and it also acts as the hotel\u2019s intimate bar. It\u2019s a quiet and relaxing space in which to unwind with a glass of Dutch beer after a long day of history, culture and shopping. The Hague has it all! There is a light and welcoming breakfast room which offers hotel guests hot drinks, cold buffet items, breads, pastries as well as cooked plates to order, such as the international standards of eggs anyway and bacon.<\/p>\n

Travel is a wonderful thing and I am blessed to be able to do so much. But one misses the comfort of home, those soft pillows, the right temperature, a comfy reading chair, enough wardrobe space, wifi, and a good night\u2019s sleep. OK, I am convinced \u2013 I am moving in. Paleis Hotel will be my next abode and I won\u2019t have to worry about grilling breakfast bacon ever again! In my experience this is one of the best small hotels of any star rating in The Hague.<\/p>\n
