From Sainsbury’s
Sweet biscuits with a chocolate topping.
Serves: makes 20
Preparation time: 15 Minutes
Cooking time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients
75g margarine
50g muscovado sugar
1 medium egg
125g plain wholemeal flour
1 teaspoon baking powder, sifted
75g unsweetened carob bar, chopped
75g chopped hazelnuts, toasted
Method
Cream the margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy, then add the egg and beat thoroughly. Add the remaining ingredients and blend together.
Place small spoonfuls of the mixture a little apart on a greased baking sheet and flatten with a dampened fork.
Bake in a preheated oven, 180°C, 350°F, Gas Mark 4, for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool on a wire rack.
If you wish to decorate with more chocolate, melt some and swirl over the cooled biscuits with a fork.
